Latest Video Game Consoles Just Don’t Compare
The latest consoles are really quite incredible. The PS3 and Xbox 360, though they’ve been around for what seems like a really long time already, have proven themselves to be truly next generation consoles. Every console wants to prove itself to be a next generation device, but that fact is that these machines really are hugely advanced, and they have taken consoles games a huge step forward. With the integration of a processor that even the U.S. government has been heavily investing in — to build a supercomputer network — you just know that it’s a new step up. And the ability for the games to work incredibly well on the Internet has taken online gaming a great leap forward. Online gaming is finally something that’s easy and very accessible to you everyday.
However, there is still something problematic with these brand new consoles. You’ll find that there is something really off about the gameplay on these new machines. Now, it’s more about the so-called story, more like the terrible cutscenes in actual fact. Take Grand Theft Auto IV for example, now the cut scenes are more important than the actual game. Rather than making a really good immersive game, it’s like watching a movie and filling in the blanks with a little driving and shooting. It doesn’t get together. Something like Nintendo’s Goldeneye on the N64 is game play perfection. They don’t take it to seriously, and just focus on gameplay. Even the oak furniture explodes in Goldeneye! The single player is also awesome, with some really severe game modes to challenge experts.
